CO2 laser can is very often used in fashion industry to cut patterns of fabric and lather. Precision of laser machine is unbeatable and results are very impressive.

This is the first time ever I have seen fabric been cut with a laser. What kind of fabric is suitable for laser cutting? Will tulle, lace, tafetta, organza also work?

Laser can cut just about any type of fabric. Rule of thumb is that if it is organic and you can burn it then we can cut it. Materials like tulle will have slight melt on the sides but its so small that you need microscope to see it. Silk, cotton and other natural fiber based fabrics will have burn mark on cross section but again they are not that visible. Certain materials may get darker edging as fibers are burning during cutting but most of the time laser machine does excellent job so you get clean cuts. Whats good about laser pattern making is that you can cut very small shapes of any complexity and also every new job run has identical pattern so say you are doing custom dress you can have 10 dress made identical with minimal effort of tedious cutting.
