Chipboard has 2 meanings to it, one is wood like board that made of very large wood chips, some are grinded wood byproducts (as shown on main photo) and some are fine cardboard like boards. Big chips board is used in construction, it’s not engravable and hard to cut. Well it is engarvble but its texture makes it hard to see engraving lines. In most cases we use chipboard name for a grayboard which is common architectural medium to build building and landscape elevations. Each layer of chipboard (greyboard) is cut and put on top of each other building tangible 3D model. See photos below for different type of chip boards
